GILGAL MISSION INDIA NGO SEEKING URGENT INTERNATIONAL AID FOR COVID -19.

INTRODUCTION ABOUT COVID  – 19:

The COVID-19 pandemic in India is a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2  (SARS-CoV-2). The first case of COVID-19 in  India , which  originated from China , was reported on 30^th  January 2020. Currently, India has the largest number of  confirmed cases in Asia . As of 12^th  June 2021, India has the second-highest number of confirmed cases in the world (after the  United States ) with 29.3 million reported cases of COVID-19 infection and the third-highest number of COVID-19 deaths at 367,081 deaths.

HOW DOES THE COVID-19 VIRUS SPREAD?

The virus is transmitted through direct contact with respiratory droplets of an infected person (through coughing and sneezing), and touching surfaces contaminated with the virus.

SYMPTOMS OF CORONAVIRUS:

Symptoms can include fever, cough and shortness of breath. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia or breathing difficulties.

PRECAUTIONS:

Here are four precautions you and your family can take to avoid infection:

1. Wash your hands frequently using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand rub.
2. Cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue when coughing or sneezing. Dispose used tissue immediately.
3. Avoid close contact with anyone who has cold or flu-like symptoms.
4. Seek medical care early if you or your child has a fever, cough or difficulty breathing.
