GILGAL MISSION INDIA NGO SEEKING URGENT INTERNATIONAL AID FOR KERALA FLOODS
Kerala, one of the states in India has received heavy monsoon rainfall between 9 -15 August 2018 resulting in dams filling to capacity. Almost all dams have been opened since the water level has risen due to heavy rainfall flooding local low-lying areas caused havoc in the Northern and Central regions of the State of Kerala. For the first time in the state's history, 35 of its 42 dams have been opened. It leads to the flood.
The floods didn’t discriminate between people and property. Almost half of Kerala is reeling under Floods.
At last count, 357 people lost their lives, and the floods destroyed roughly 906,400 hectares worth of crops. Still lot of dead bodies are coming out from the water. The flood has made 200 billion dollar damages. One million people were affected and become homeless and were already staying in relief camps.
The roads and the communication facilities are totally disrupted. In many places, the electricity poles are washed away and the people are forced to stay indoors. The people are hunger to get one meal and drinking water.
One meal costs 5 dollar and drinking water costs 1 dollar. Urgently we need 10,000 meals and 10,000 drinking water bottle to help the people who were affected by the flood.
Urgently the people in Kerala need food, clothes and drinking water. The worst affected Districts are Palakkad, Ernakulum, Alappuzha, Idukki, Pathanamthitta,Thrissur Wayanad and Kozhikode. Thousands of people became homeless. They lost everything. Urgently they need help.
We, the Gilgal Mission India NGO decided to help the flood affected poor people by providing food, clothes and drinking water. So please help the Kerala floods.
